If you knew that U.S. international policy was being controlled by the Kremlin, what would you do? That's the premise of this action thriller "A Spy Too Close" involving a Russian plot to plant a spy in the White House.
A Canadian Intelligence Officer from CSIS and an FBI Agent team up to track the spy from Canada through the U.S. to Washington, D.C. A Russian assassin attempts to cover up the tracks of the spy.
The action includes fast -paced car chases in Quebec and Washington and hair-raising pursuits on snowmobiles over snow covered hills and ice in Lake Placid, New York .
The story has a number of unique wrinkles and twists as the two intelligence agents uncover the plot and close in on the spy.

"I claim diplomatic immunity."
"Hah. That won't do you much good out here." He nodded to two of
the soldiers.Sensing danger, real danger, Fadeev managed to get to his
feet and began to run.
One of the soldiers raised the Kalashnikov rifle, aimed low and
fired, hitting him in the left leg behind the knee. Fadeev flipped over
and fell to the ground, screaming.....another soldier pulled his feet
together, bound his ankles tightly and attached the other end to the
bumper of Fadeev's car.
The driver turned the car around and returned past the open
barrier.....the stones cut into Fadeev's stomach and face....The
battered body, or what remained of it, was found tied to the Fiat on
the side of the road outside

...Let me show you a few photographs, Mr. Vincent." He pulled an envelope out of his jacket pocket.
"Photographs?" said Vincent. He ripped open the envelope and pulled out the photographs.
"Jesus, where did you get these? Oh, my God, they were taken in
that apartment. What's the meaning of this? It's an outrage. Do you
realize who she is?"
"The question is, Mr. Vincent, do you realize what these photographs mean to you?"
"What do you want?"
"Information."
"What kind of information?"
"Something that is readily available in your work at the CIA."
"You mean that you want me to spy on my country? Who the hell do you represent??
"That's of no consequence. We need certain information and you need
our silence. We want you to provide us with a list of all CIA agents
and double-agents on your files."........................
