A TRUE STORY

'For Love and Country' is not just a war story, It's also a love story spanning 63 years, a story of two young people whose lives were interrupted by WW2.
It's a story of Ted Patrick, a ' 5 foot 1 inch Irish leprechaun' with a twinkle in his eye and a penchant for hugging people, and his beloved Eileen who waited for him to return to Canada from the war.
Faced with the decision to fight for his country in WW2, he decided to forego marriage until he returned from the war unscathed.
Their wartime romance included more than 200 love letters. Upon his return, after his marriage he discovered that he had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Ted 'tells all' in this fascinating biography of his experiences in Italy and France, his battle with PTSD and the effect it had on his life.
